Appearing as Himself

Movie Magic was a series of one-hour television specials which took viewers behind the scenes to show them the "magic" involved in making movies. Episodes focused on make-up special effects, stop-motion animation, explosions and fire, and so forth.

Featured here is a portion of the eighth episode of the series, in which the focus was snakes. The movie "Anaconda" was explored in depth, as were Swiss Family Robinson, Indiana Jones, and Sssssssss. Other portions of the program dealt with professional snake wranglers, myths and misconceptions surrounding snakes, and the proper method for picking up and discarding a poisonous snake.

The Swiss Family Robinson portion featured commentary by James MacArthur about one of the most famous snake-fighting scenes in movies, featuring a very large and very real anaconda fresh from the Amazon.
