John Loves Mary Pheasant Run Playhouse, St. Charles, Illinois (19 June - 3 July 1966) Appearing as John Lawrence A comedy in three acts by Norman Krasna. John, who has been overseas for three years on military service, is welcomed home by his true love Mary. John's friend Fred, who saved John's life in the war, had returned home a year before John and he also welcomes John back. John brings Fred what should be a pleasant surprise: Lily -- an English girl Fred had fallen in love with, but John had married so that she could come to the U.S. to be with Fred. John hopes to get a quick divorce from Lily, and marry Mary. Mary's family has no notion of John's supposed good deed, and when they insist on an immediate wedding between their daughter and John, things get interesting. Matters are not helped when it is learned that Fred has not only married another girl, but is also an expectant father. In the end, after a botched plan to remedy the entire situation, all is happily resolved. Cast Mary
