Insight Some Talk About Pool Rooms and Gin Mills (1967) Appearing as Billy Thorp Broadcast in 1967 on independent affiliate broadcast stations. Billy Thorp (James MacArthur) is a young white man on the run from the law who holes up in the apartment of Pop Walton (Robert DeCoy) and his daughter Barbara (Kim Hamilton), who are black. Pop's son, Adam (Don Mitchell) is a radical militant who visits during Billy's stay. He and Billy initially lock horns, but as their conversation progresses, each learns a measure of acceptance and tolerance for each other and their respective races. Also featured Barbara Baldavin as Nancy. |
