Cine Album (February 1959) <a Spanish-language publication> Young Men of Hollywood James Gordon MacArthur lives in New York and is 20 years old. With only one film, The Young Stranger, he is placed among the young actors with many possibilities in Hollywood. Walt Disney saw this and decided to hire him for the stellar project The Light in the Forest. Fox and other important production companies also saw him, and, as Disney, wanted an exclusive contract with James MacArthur. Disney won, and now the young actor has just finished his second film: The Third Man on the Mountain, filmed totally in Switzerland. MacArthur wanted to be actor since childhood, not surprising as he was in an environment of artists: he is the adopted son of the great lady of Broadway, Helen Hayes, and of the comedy writer Charles MacArthur. Although his father died when he was ten, his mother was opposed during a great deal of that time to permit him to work in the theater until he finished his studies. And so, James ended his studies and jumped ship to work in Hollywood. He met the love of his life early on, and, three months ago, James married his girlfriend of many years, a girl of the great society of Philadelphia. They expect their first son. Aside from his career as an actor, MacArthur is President of Publishing at Filosa Publications, a new and important company. At present he is presented on Broadway, in the work Far Away the Train Birds Cry.
